“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19 NIV
“To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.” Revelation 3:7 NIV
Have you ever lost something important found it only to lose it again on the same day? Well that's what happened to me a few weeks ago and it was my keys. The situation left me feeling very helpless as I spent a considerable amount of time searching both high and low and I also knew that I would not get to where I needed to be without them.
By the end of that particular day, I was starting to think God was trying to get a message across. It was only in the atmosphere of prayer within the week that followed at the AIM prayer meeting that I felt the Lord begin to shed some light on the issue with my keys.
I felt the Holy Spirit say that the greatest weapon we have against the enemy is revelation that comes from Him because it is hidden from Satan and his kingdom. Revelation is the key that unlocks the Father's will upon the earth. The enemy’s advantage over humankind is in proportion to our ignorance of his schemes that he works in the spiritual realm. The more we are unaware, the more he can wreak havoc in our lives, the lives of our families and communities.
Satan has established his kingdom in the spiritual realm over the earth; dispatching certain powers, principalities and demons to rule over certain regions and territories by taking advantage of the ignorance of the people who live in that area. The book of Daniel supports this view as Daniel prayed for 21 days until he received a visitation from Gabriel. When Gabriel arrived, he told Daniel that although he had been dispatched the moment Daniel prayed, it had taken him 10 days to arrive because he was delayed by resistance from the Prince of Persia and had needed Michael’s assistance. Persistent prayer was the key that Daniel used to overcome the Prince of Persia and receive his breakthrough.
I felt the Holy Spirit say that he has specific keys that bring about salvation, divine breakthroughs, deliverance, healing, and the outpouring of his presence reserved for individuals, families, communities, towns, cities and nations. I believe the Holy Spirit will only reveal these keys to believers who love God's presence, praying, waiting on God and also willing to live a life of obedience to the Spirits promptings.
The key that Jesus used to bring about radical repentance in the life of the tax collector Zacchaeus was a word of knowledge on his name (to let him know that God knew him) and a request to spend time with him in his own home. (Luke 19:4-10)
The key that brought the entire community of both Lydda and Sharon to the Lord was when Peter healed a paralysed bedridden man named Aaeneas in the name of Jesus. (Acts 9:32-35)
The key that caused King Darius to acknowledge that God is sovereign is Daniel's unwillingness to compromise his commitment to praying to God though it could have cost him his life.
Such examples prove to show only the right key will unlock the door that brings transformation.
It is encouraging to know that for every challenge and problem there is a key that will unlock breakthrough and bring about divine solutions. The Holy Spirit has every key; He knows the key that leads to an outpouring of his presence over Stanhope, Willesborough, Kennington, Singleton and so on... He has the key for broken homes, those drug/porn/alcohol addicts He has the keys that will bring revival amongst the youth of Ashford.
Let us seek God for revelation;
May we be a people that use the keys the Holy Spirit reveals, and reclaim every territory the enemy has for the Kingdom of God in Jesus name!
